phone dump

i love that i have a phone that takes pretty decent pictures and video.  it does cause me a bit of a problem, in terms of actually getting the pictures and video off of it.  my favorite way to take pictures is obviously my good nikon...and i pop those bad boys right up onto the computer, generally every evening.  there are many cases where i don't want to lug my big camera with us...and opt for the phone instead.  but my phone pictures don't like to upload for some reason.  i'm sure there is some button or setting somewhere...but i'v been unsuccessfully in finding it.  so...it's a little more challenging to get them off.  feel free to shed some light on this situation.

two weeks worth of iphone photos creates a bit of a jumbled/confusing/broken story.  but let's be honest...that's not uncommon for me.  it's what my husband loves best about me.  right, babe?  really...the man struggles to pay attention to an entire thought.  he has tried hard to make e-mail an acceptable form of communication for us.  i'm not biting on it though.  and once...he even asked me if i could talk to him in outline form.  if something is really important...i've been known to start my ramble with,

"roman numeral 1..."

anyhow...all of that to warn you that what lies in your immediate future...if you chose to stick around... is what i have heard referred to as a phone photo dump.

they made a "get well mom" sign out of legos.  this was back when i bent it like beckham and landed in the ER.

that's me on crutches...lego style.

colton's very first time to change a diaper:
it wasn't even a smelly.  paaaaaalease.  he has a flair for the dramatic.  i have noooooo idea where he gets it.

he treated it like it was calf roping.

"DONE!"

i woke up to this site...and nearly started crying:

she dug out my very first soccer jersey.  thanks mom...for saving everything!!!  i loved this:

i went to aiden's field day:

this particular race did not go well for her.

poor darlin'.  she is wearing her brother's shoes that have been through both of them.  now they are on round 3.  they have zeeeero tread left.  wasn't seeing that comin.

UK, chad, and i hit the galveston county fair to see the rodeo and the josh abbott band.

we got pretty close.  close enough for josh abbott to give me a guitar pick, even.

it was a good night.

tonight...i'm taking aiden back to the rodeo to see the barrel racing competition.  here's a little known fact...

they have youth, adult, and senior barrel racers competing.

foreshadowing.

dream big.

just another night...

i'm currently listening to chase yell at colton because he thought that colt had stuffed his frog toy from the treasure box "down his pants."  annslee is asserting herself, quite nicely, as she is trying to see around their war to enjoy a peaceful episode of the barenstain bears on sprout.  and aiden is observing, laughing, and offering her two cents at an impressible decibel.  i'm listening to chad, trying his darnedest, to get control of the situation by making declarations of bedtime and brushing teeth...but it clearly needs the skilled hands of a mother.

my "perfect evening" experience can only be re-kindled by the image of 90 minutes ago.

the girls set up camp...in the hopes of a visit with the neighbors.  it appears...they are enjoying our visits just as much as i am.

they watched across the street...under parasol and setting sun, for the door to open and the sunset, child's play to begin.

and they delivered.

there is nothing like a driveway full of laughing and squealing children to wrap up the day with a nice, red bow.

and then there's the glitter...

this one is like the perfect, glittered name tag on the perfectly wrapped package.

we wrapped things up with some puddle jumping.

****

at some point during the typing of this post, i ushered children upstairs, monitored the brushing of teeth, found stuffed lambies that can not possibly be left to sleep on their own, whispered prayers and i love yous, and promised a certain 6 year old girl that i would, indeed "check the doors."

now, i don't even wait for her to ask.  i just say...somewhere between "amen" and "i love you" that i will "check the doors."

she just says,

"thank you."

i think that a long, hot bath is calling my name.  i have, like, 7 draw something games that are waiting for me, too.  i finished my book that i usually read in the tub...so draw something is having to suffice.  i keep thinking that i'm gonna drop my phone in the water...but i haven't yet.  that would be something i would do though.  let's just be honest.

if you think about it...you can think of us tomorrow.  we have a big meeting with the principal, the diagnostician, the speech therapist, and the occupational therapist at the school tomorrow.

do you think it would be okay if i brought my flask??

eastertide

sakes alive!  it has been too long.  now what am i gonna do?  so many pictures and stories...so little time.

****

first of all...eastertide has arrived...in all of it's splendid glory.  Jesus has, once again, ushered in a magnificent display of season with his display of selfless love on the cross.

who would have ever thought that i could grow flowers?  i'm like a flower garden's kryptonite.  but lo and behold...my gardenias are making quite the statement.

dying easter eggs was taken right on outside this year.  it cut down on my stress level substantially.

the moon needed to be signing autographs on friday night.

a good, ole' fashion fort and a flashlight proved to be as entertaining as ever.

good friendships grew a little stronger.

and shoes were scarce.

these girls rocked their soccer game on saturday.  so what if they were more excited about the after game snack than the actual game itself???  snacks are exciting.

sister wanted in the game.

the rest of the day was spent celebrating with friends in the happy, april sun.

the fire pit had it's way with the eater s'mores.

the adults got serious about the egg hunt.  the kids hid in our closet while we organized the eggs by color AND initials.  maybe you didn't know that egg hunting is serious business.

can't ya tell?

what fun would it be if the boys can't destroy something with a bat?  confetti egg baseball proved itself a good time.

these dresses were right out of sound of music's these are a few of my favorite things.

you may think that chase is upset about what the easter bunny brought him.  not so.  he was so excited he burst into tears.

we spent the afternoon with family...eating easter dinner, watching the masters, and taking in the splendor of the day.

my girls got mad croquet skills.

it runs in the family.

see those socks?  those were mine.  honey stitched the little flowers on them.  they make me happy on her feet.
